2013 Scholarship Recipients Announced
The Arts Club of Washington has announced the recipients of the 2013 Ann Bartsch Dunne scholarship awards. This year’s competition recognized outstanding work by student photographers.
Winner ($1,500): James Paul, The American University, Washington, D.C, for his entry titled Whispers Into Eternity.
First Runner-Up ($1,000): Mark Thomas, The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., for Down the Road.
Second Runner-Up ($750): Natalie Plumb, The American University, for A Grad’s Rainy Day.
Honorable Mention ($200) Alexa Jaenicke, The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., for her untitled image.
The judges were photographer Robert Strawn of Arlington and Lisa Hostetler, McEvoy Family Curator for Photography at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
The Arts Club of Washington sponsors the annual scholarship competition for students between the ages of 18 and 26 who are pursuing studies in the arts at a college or university in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia.
The discipline for the 2014 competition, as well as entry information, will be announced in late 2013.
