About the Artists
Susanne Eisinger says of her abstract acrylics, “My ideas deal with spaces and their relationships along with colors in connection with these spaces.” Eisinger received her Bachelor in Studio Art from the University of Maryland and her Masters Degree from the Vermont College of the Union Institute and University in Vermont, winning several university awards and scholarships.
Isabelle Pizzano says, “Working in mixed media collage gives me the best way to express myself as well as the power to communicate with the viewer.” Born in Rome, she graduated from the Art Institute of Rome majoring in clay sculpture. Among her major achievements she won the Vanguard Award with the National Watercolor Society in 2015.
Max-Karl Winkler says of his work, “Influences of Maya and Aztec sculpture—but also of the woodcuts of Hokusai and Hiroshige, of British wood engravers and woodcutters of the twentieth century—are apparent there.” He received BA, BFA and MFA degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution and the Library of Congress, among others.
Curated by Chris With, PhD, Former Coordinator of Art Information at the National Gallery of Art curated the exhibit.
