Club Dinner Feat. Marcolivia

The popular violin duo, Marcolivia (Marc Ramirez and Olivia Hajioff) will return to the Arts Club for a Club Dinner April 28. They will play Bela Bartok, Selections from the 44 Duos for Two Violins; Robert Fuchs, 8 Duets for Two Violins, op. 60 and Aleksey Igudesman, 5 Klezmer Duos for Two Violins. Winners of the annual Arts Club scholarship awards— this year in sculpture and ceramics—will be recognized and their art will be on display at the dinner. 


Cocktails, 6:30 pm, program 7:30 pm, dinner 8:30 pm. Members and guests $50 plus $10 program fee. Business Dress.

About the Scholarship Competition
Each year the Arts Club sponsors a scholarship competition to recognize promising students specializing in a specific art form or medium—this year, sculpture and ceramics. The competition is open to college students ages 18-28 in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.  This year 11 entries were received, and the scholarships were awarded as follows:

  • Winner ($2,000): Monroe Isenberg, University of Maryland, for his entry titled “Mach XXIII”
  • Runner-Up ($1,000): Wing Hei Cheng, Virginia Commonwealth University,  for his entry titled “Be, Coming”
  • Honorable Mention ($750): Jacob Zimmerman, Towson University, for his entry titled “Mound”


Serving as judges were local sculptors Charles Bergen and Thanasi Papapostolou and ceramicist Rebecca Ravenal.
