Evenings with Extraordinary Artists

The Evenings with Extraordinary Artists series will present Ed Herendeen, director and founder of the Contemporary Sheperdstown Theater Festival, Wednesday, March 29 at 6:30 pm. Herendeen will discuss the mission of his company, which is to produce and develop new American theater. Since its founding in 1991, the Theater Festival has produced 105 new plays – including 40 world premieres and nine commissions – and has gained a reputation as one of America’s most important producers of new work. Hosted on the campus of Shepherd University, CATF sells over 13,000 tickets to its four-week rotating repertory season of five new plays and attracts a national audience from 35 states to the region. Herendeen, along with members of his staff, will present a sneak “peek” of the 2017 season which will expand from five to six plays. 

Doors open at 6:30 pm, program begins at 7 pm. A reception with wine and hors d’houvres will precede and follow the program. The cost is $15 for members, $25 for the public. RSVP by 3 pm the day before the event at (202) 331-7282 ext. 3 or email administrator@artsclubofwashingtonorg.
