The Arts Club of Washington provides an elegant and gracious site for receptions and events. The house, which once served as the executive mansion for President Monroe, is a National Historic Landmark. This Federal-era mansion offers a variety of settings for entertaining - from seated dinners in an art-filled gallery to receptions in the large walled garden, which may be tented. Cuisine is an art in itself, and the Arts Club of Washington is proud to offer a full catering service for events held at the facility. We will prepare any dish you prefer for your event, including your own recipes. I like to customize the menu to meet your tastes, needs and budget. Buffet service works most comfortably in the Monroe House, but several entertaining options are available: *Standing receptions for up to 300 guests *Seated dinners for up to 90 (in one room) or 130 (on one floor) *House and garden receptions for up to 300 *Seated service in the garden for up to 150 guests (weather permitting or with a tent) Costs vary with the size of the group and the season. Full reservation requires a deposit of 30% of catering costs. Standard receptions are 4 hours, plus 2 hours for setup and an additional 1-1/2 hours for cleanup, included in the room rental fee. Bands and dancing can be accommodated. The Arts Club is a smoke free environment. If you are considering the Arts Club, the rich heritage of the house can best be appreciated in person. Please come and visit our historic home, and ask to see a photo album of events and catering displays. I would be happy to discuss the club's services and availability with you. If you would like to reserve a date, please contact me to discuss your needs further.
