February 3 – February 25, 2017
The Arts Club of Washington’s February 2017 art exhibition features works by F11, a woman’s photography collective comprised of 9 fine art photographers. The exhibition will be on view from February 3 – February 25. A free public reception will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
Founded in 2010, the collective’s purpose is to provide its membership with opportunities to exchange ideas and information, to have work critiqued, to provide support, and to allow its members to share their passion for photography with other like-minded women. F11’s exhibition, “Nine behind the Lens,” at the Arts Club reflects the unique vision of each of its photographers and the diversity of the photographic medium in the 21st century. The artists are predominately from the Washington, DC area.
F11 Photographers include; Christine Bernstein, Sheila Galagan, Carol Simons Huddleston, Blair Jackson, Silvia Gonzalez Roman, Meryl Silver, Jo Ann Tooley, Lillis Werder and Marisa S. White. This exhibition is curated by Erich Keel, PhD, Former Head of Education at the Kreeger Museum.
The club’s cooperative Spilsbury Gallery will feature the mixed media pieces of Martine Khadr Van-Schoote.
Other participating artists include; Lorna Aldrich, Gloria Benedetto, Camilla Bozzoli, Vicki Doyle, Susanne Eisinger, Larry Jarvik, Martine Khadr-Van Schoote, Peggy McNutt, Carol Porter, Earl Tester, Lou Tanner, and Jonathan Zuck.
