DC Wedding and Receptions
Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, and you want it to be perfect. One of the first things a couple does when they get engaged is to find the right venue for their wedding and their reception. For those who have strong ties to a specific church, there’s often no question as to where the ceremony will take place. For others, though, the search for a wedding venue may be one of the first things on the to-do list. Even those with a ceremony location may need to find a suitable place for their reception.
The Arts Club of Washington offers the perfect location for a wedding, reception, or both: The Monroe House. This historic home offers all of the space needed for small, intimate weddings or large receptions for several hundred guests. Our indoor parlors on the first floor and offer space for formal dining or for a ceremony. Upstairs, our salons feature historic décor and a Steinway grand piano for entertainment, plus space can be combined with the drawing-room and the MacFeely gallery to accommodate larger groups.
If you’re considering an outdoor wedding, our gorgeous private gardens may offer exactly what you want. Our back patio allows any gathering on the first floor to spill outdoors, while we can add tents that can seat several hundred for larger events. The privacy of this beautiful outdoor space makes it feel as if you’ve escaped to a secluded garden far from the pressure of the city.
Naturally, any reception venue needs to include catering, and the Monroe House is no exception. Our talented staff is led by Chef, Patrick Orange, who will work with you to create the perfect menu for your reception, including a gorgeous cake. Whether you’re considering an afternoon reception with snacks and desserts or a plated dinner following your ceremony, our team is ready to make your dream a reality.
